The jury is compiled of design connoisseurs from very different specialist fields. They come from the economy, teaching and science as well as the design industry, and are recognised capacities in their fields. The German Design Award sets the highest possible standards when determining its prize-winners. In the nomination procedure, only those products and communications services which have verifiably differentiated themselves from the competition through their exceptional design quality are invited by expert committees from the German Design Council to participate in the competition. This year, over 4,000 submissions were presented to the jury.

In the previous year, Niesmann+Bischoff also received positive news from Frankfurt am Main, the home of the German Design Council. In that year, the Arto received a “Special Mention”. This is awarded to products, the design of which reveals particularly outstanding partial aspects. As the Niesmann+Bischoff Managing Director Hubert Brandl explains: “After the success with our Arto, the fact that our Flair has now managed to convince the jury so thoroughly - that's wonderful! The bestowal of the German Design Award is a major acknowledgement for the entire Team”.
