The new optional Flair Safety Pack – with an emergency brake assistant, adaptive cruise control and lane assist

Polch, 4^th July 2019 – It was a representative study with surprising findings: according to the survey conducted by market research firm YouGov, 71 per cent of consumers assume that airbags are a standard feature in motorhomes. It’s a common misconception. In the top class of motorhomes, Niesmann+Bischoff was the first manufacturer to invest the resources and effort to make the Flair the first liner on the road with airbags. And remains the only provider do have done so in its field to this day. Starting with the 2020 model year, the innovative safety concept will be taken to the next level – with the option of adding the Flair Safety Pack. Several standard features have also been added on board, such as electromechanical power steering or an electronic parking brake.

Assistance systems in the new Iveco Daily Generation

“By including airbags, the Pedal Release System, ESP and belt pretensioners, we set a milestone in our field in the 2018 model year that received quite an amount of attention, especially from the competition. We’re now integrating the latest electronic assistance systems from the most recent Iveco Daily Generation – which undoubtedly adds value in terms of both safety and comfort while on the road”, said Hubert Brandl, Managing Director of Niesmann+Bischoff GmbH. The radar system has been built into the front bumper and the camera is positioned behind the windscreen. The new six-piece Flair Safety Pack from the Polch-based manufacturer includes emergency brake assist and adaptive cruise control, active lane assist with an audio warning signal, ESP with crosswind assist, Traction Plus with a hill holder and an active tyre pressure control system.

Multi-function steering wheel and high-definition colour screen

As standard, the 2020 Flair will hit the road with new electromechanical power steering; it serves as the foundation for the driver assistance systems and most notably makes manoeuvring easier for the driver. The multi-function steering wheel, also available with a leather cover, can be adjusted to the exact centimetre both in height and tilt. Even more convenience is provided by another standard feature: the electronic parking brake. Eliminating the manual parking brake provides even more space around the driver’s seat, which is now even easier to swivel around to face the living area. The new standard Flair also now features a high-definition colour screen that is centrally positioned in the dashboard to display information at all times, from the current temperature to the time of day.

New Flair 920 LW in the 2020 model year

The Flair family will also be enhanced by the addition of a new layout, which offers numerous convenient amenities, plenty of storage space, an XXL bathroom and a generous sense of space. One of the many impressive features provided by the Flair 920 LW is its extra-wide basin combined with a large mirrored cabinet for toiletries. Thanks to the width of the basin, the lower cabinet offers enough room for two drawers. In addition to the customary room-height wardrobe between the bathroom and rear bed, which is a standard feature in all Flair models, a second wardrobe has been added right next to the first – for more storage space that even includes four drawers in the lower section. As a side note to demonstrate how seriously Niesmann+Bischoff takes external feedback and requests: the impetus to make the new layout a reality was provided at the last Caravan Salon – these suggestions are now part of the Flair 920 LW.
