Airbags
Airbags
An absolute first in the liner class — to ensure optimal protection during an impact, we have installed a driver and passenger airbag. We have ensured the system’s capability via extensive testing and successfully completed crash tests involving both frontal and oblique impacts.
ESP
ESP
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) specifically brakes individual wheels to ensure the vehicle remains safely on course. The ESP on the Flair has been comprehensively tested and will be installed in all models as standard from model year 2018. Also available in combination with the optional air suspension.

In order to provide our liner with a completely insulated interior floor, the entire driver’s cab has been raised onto a platform. The construction consists of aluminium sandwich panels as well as canted steel plates and is specifically designed to handle the loads generated during a crash.
Bulkhead partition

The new bulkhead design meets the highest safety requirements due to its higher stability and stiffness. The partition is constructed from glass fibre reinforced plastic and has been optimised via exhaustive computer simulations.

The double floor made from aluminium sandwich panels is screwed, glued and positively interlocked to the side panels on both sides. This results in an extremely stable solution, which scarcely deforms in the event of a crash.

42 per cent lighter — and yet even stiffer. By reinforcing our seat consoles and optimising their weight, we were able to reduce their structural deformation during a crash by 95 per cent. Two built-in arrestor hooks in each seat console provide additional support in the event of an impact.

To provide maximum safety, the seatbelts must restrain the occupants and tighten as early as possible. The integrated seatbelt pretensioners tighten the seatbelt in a fraction of a second to reduce the risk of injury.

Pedal Release Systeme
Pedal Release Systeme
Conventional pedals can injure the driver’s legs in the event of a rear-end collision. Our pedal release system drastically reduces this risk — in the event of an impact, the pedals simply fold forwards out of the way.

From 2020 models
Emergency Brake Assistant
Alerts the driver in case of an imminent collision. The braking pressure is additionally increased for a shorter stopping distance. If the driver fails to react, the braking process is automatically initiated.
Distance Control with Congestion Assistant
The distance to the vehicle in front is maintained automatically. The Congestion Assistant brakes the motorhome down to 0 km/h.
Active Lane Departure Warning System with acoustic signal
If necessary, an active steering intervention aided by the LDWS camera automatically keeps the vehicle in the lane.
Active Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
The active TPMS warns the driver if one or more tyres loses pressure before this can cause an accident. Furthermore, the correct tyre pressure prevents excessive fuel consumption and unnecessary emissions.
Traction Plus with Hill Descent Control
Makes starting on slippery surfaces easier (mud, sand, snow). The Hill Descent Control (HDC) is a cruise control function for driving downhill at low speed.
